2025 Season Episodes
Best of SFTV 2025
The 2025 season showcased battles of all kinds. A look back at some of our favorite fishing competitions from the past year.
Fishing Destinations: Town vs. Country
Panama and Miami offer epic offshore fishing, but one does so among remote jungle islands in the Pacific, and the other with the city skyline in the background.
Shark Bait: Cobia vs. Kingfish
Shark depredation is an all-too-familiar story with recreational fishing today, and cobia and kingfish are among their favorite targets.
Local Fave: Mutton Snapper vs. Tautog
Their names may not ring out globally, but in their respective corners of the earth, Florida Keys mutton snapper and New England tautog are beloved by the locals.
Florida Keys: Captain vs. Captain
One destination. One boat. One wreck. One beloved gamefish. Two captains. How will two high-level pros handle the same fishing scenario? It’s off to Marathon in the Middle Keys, one of the fishiest places in America, to chase permit offshore.
Bucket List: Tarpon vs. Roosterfish
For many hardcore anglers, these A-list gamefish are the species of their dreams, and come with a level of difficulty that gives them nightmares. It’s the tarpon and the roosterfish: two of the world’s most prized catches.
Sea Monsters: Swordfish vs. Lingcod
One is a sea dragon with razor-sharp teeth. The other is one of the ocean’s apex predators known for cruising the deepest, darkest waters. SFTV travels to Alaska and the Florida Keys to battle these two very different species.
Tuna: Bluefin vs. Yellowfin
Tackle wreckers. Endurance testers. A-list gamefish. So will it be bluefin and the wicked autumnal seas of New England, or running 130 miles offshore in Florida for yellowfin?
Pelagics: New Smyrna Wahoo vs. South Florida Sailfish
From the equator to the Gulf Stream, world-traveling gamefish have arrived in the Sunshine State. Is it more impressive to catch the beloved billfish, or the torpedo with teeth?
Migrations: Chesapeake Bay Stripers vs. Alaskan Salmon
SFTV travels to two destinations defined by migrations: Alaska, home of the annual salmon run, and the Chesapeake Bay, the sanctuary for striped bass as they move through their life cycle.
Sport Fishing TV: Season Teaser
There are two sides to every fishing story. For the 2025 season, SFTV compares and contrasts different species, destinations, and types of fishing from around the world, and showcases what makes each unique.
